Engine: Inboard Yanmar 1GM10 (1986). Runs well.
Rudder: Original Trapeziform, Harken rudder bearings rebuilt twice, replaced once. Now has some but not excessive play.
Core: The decks and hull are cored with Kledgecell, no balsa therefore no gain of water or weight. (1997) The deck, coamings and house were stiffened fore and aft with minimal addition of weight but significant increase in speed. Call for details.
Topsides and deck: (2008) All dings and gel coat stress cracks professionally removed, reinforced with glass cloth and re gel coated. Very pretty and a bit stiffer yet.
Bottom: (2008) VC 17, (2003) VC Inter-protect Barrier Coat, (2003) Faired Hull, keel and rudder 2nd time.
Rigging: Standard Kenyon Rig - Double Spreader Aluminum Mast, Aluminum Boom, and 2, 14’ standard Spinnaker Poles. Arimid Halyards. (2002) TuffLuff Headfoil. All standing rod rigging in very good condition and running rigging has been updated as needed. (4) Lewmar standard winches. 48:1 cascading backstay with tail led below deck to centerline under traveler. 24:1 check stays with course and fine tune flush mounted (no coaming winch in the way) and accessible to helmsman and main trimmer.
Sails: All Haarstick sails since 1986, constantly upgraded. Currently Carbon Main, #1, #3 and .6 airex runner used only for National events. 2007 Dacron main, 2008 Dacron #1, and (2) .6 Airex runners for local racing. Many other sails in various condition including Mains, #1s, #2s, #3s and .6, .75 and 1.5 OZ. spinnakers.
Trailer: Tandem axle trailer with electric brakes and full saddles for good support. Brakes need service.
Instruments: Raymarine ST60 Electronics system with bulkhead mounted wind, depth and speed and with Autohelm ST4000 autopilot and Raymarine ST60 Maxiview repeater at the mast and VHF Radio mounted in Navigation Station with extension speaker in the coaming. The Maxi view repeater is operable but needs a new plug/connector.
Extras: Safety gear, dock lines and fenders.
Boat Condition: I bought the boat from Mark Soverel in the winter of 1985-86 and have kept it in excellent racing condition ever since. It is dry and sound. In 2008 in preparation for sale I had the boat cosmetically restored to give her a good send off. All dings and gel coat stress cracks were professionally removed, reinforced with glass cloth and re gel coated. She’s very pretty and a bit stiffer yet. She has an excellent race record on the Great Lakes over the 21 seasons we sailed her. She placed in every NOOD event entered including NOODS in Larchmont, Chicago and Toronto. She sailed in 6 Soverel 33 Nationals since 1999 and placed first 3 times and second 3 times.
